The arthropod working group coordinates the activities of theĀ Hymenoptera Anatomy Ontology, the Spider Comparative Biology Ontology, and the FlyBase Drosophila development and anatomy ontologies. We also hope to foster closer connections between these projects and other arthropodcentric researchers who use anatomy ontologies (e.g., the Mosquito Ontology group and the Tick Ontology group) or who might benefit from future phenotype-related ontologies.

During the course of this five-year RCN our efforts are focusing on developing a common arthropod anatomy ontology and exploring opportunities to extend this initiative into the realms of nematode and other protostome phenotypes.
